How soon after getting engaged did you start wedding planning?

We got engaged at the end of August 2023 and we knew we were wanted to get married in summer 2024 so we enjoyed the engagement bubble for a few weeks and then started planning quite soon after.

What was the main reason for having a marquee wedding?

We always knew we wanted to get married in Lincolnshire on my family farm and married in the village church so we had always had a marquee wedding in mind.

Why did you choose a Sperry Tent from Boutique Marquees?

It was a priority that what ever the weather we would have a marquee that would feel secure and not take away from the day. The sperry tents are such good quality and boutique marquees offer such a great service. The marquee brochure was so clear and easy to follow and Hannah and the team were so easy to speak to, right from my initial enquiry. Leading up to the wedding we had gale force winds and rain but it always felt like we were in a venue inside the marquee and the marquee team did a great job setting everything up in challenging weather.

What advice would you give to anyone considering hiring a marquee for their wedding?

When you’re thinking about layout and exactly what you need for the marquee, work through the day thinking of every detail. We did this and decided to add on the walk way with festoon lights, my parents then grew some hydrangea/surfinia pots to go along the walkway! It worked amazing and created such a lovely photo opportunity!

What’s your favourite memory from your wedding day?

Our favourite memory from the wedding was when our band (the Dominoes) did a roaming set after the wedding breakfast. It had rained on the morning of the wedding but improved in the afternoon and we ended up having the most wonderful sunset. The sunset glowed through the marquee, everyone was up on their feet singing with the band and Toby and I were stood on chairs in the middle of the marquee! It was amazing to be surrounded by all of our loved ones!
