Tell us about the proposal!
We got engaged in Porto which was beautiful! I actually booked Porto as a surprise holiday for Oli’s birthday, but he ended up surprising me with a ring!
How soon after getting engaged did you start wedding planning?
We started planning the wedding within the month. It wasn’t intentionally that quick, but once we started looking at venues etc we soon learnt how quickly everything gets booked up. Run don’t walk!
What was the main reason for having a marquee wedding?
We loved the idea of creating our own wedding with our own style. A marquee wedding provides so much more flexibility than a fixed venue and allows you to add all your own finishing touches exactly as you want them! You really can see your vision come to life.
Why did you choose a Sperry Tent from Boutique Marquees?
As soon as we found our venue and settled on a marquee, there was no question for us about what marquee we’d want. The Sperry tent really is a mark above the rest, the luxury is incredible and the Sperry really complimented the style we were wanting to create. Our venue also had incredible grounds and views, and a Sperry tent brings the outdoors in! Boutique Marquees were amazing from start to finish, nothing was too much trouble and the plan was clear from the get go.
What advice would you give to anyone considering hiring a marquee for their wedding?
Go for a Sperry tent - you won’t regret it and the beauty of it comes through in every single memory and photograph! Be super clear on your vision from the start so that you know what added extras you want in your marquee - the options are endless.
What’s your favourite memory from your wedding day?
Favourite memory of the day was taking a moment and looking around at all our favourite people, both at the meal and on the d floor!! We wouldn't have changed a thing.
Do you mind sharing an approximate budget range for your wedding?
Budget was roughly 40k… we did marginally exceed!
