Elevate Your Marquee Bar

Elevate Your Marquee Bar

How to Elevate your Celebration with Drinks - with Sip 'n' Swig, the Mobile Bar Hire Specialists

So, you’ve booked your dream wedding, a marquee wedding, with Boutique Marquees of course! Perhaps in the grounds of a family home, on some local land, or even at your dream venue, you’ll be just a sailcloth canopy away from the starlit sky with your guests sipping to love and happiness!

The question is, how do you elevate the scene with drinks and can a mobile bar company help?

1. Go beyond the standard and create a cocktail menu that reflects your style and theme

A signature cocktail named after you, cocktails you enjoyed on your first date or travels, mocktails bursting with seasonal fruits or local produce. The choices are endless! With a mobile bar team, you benefit from a huge range of drinks, and at Sip 'n' Swig we LOVE to create a bespoke menu that reflects you and your celebration, using local products wherever possible. Drinks people would love to try and even that all important draught beer!

2. Transform any part of your marquee with drinks!

Open up the dance floor & evening party with a cocktail bar, Espresso Martini Hour anyone? Welcome guests to your wedding reception with an array of signature drinks... cocktail canapés are set to be huge this year!

3. Your bar service, your way!

Most mobile bar companies have their own bar structures, but most will work off anything that fits your theme. Marquee companies often hire out bars such as Boutique Marquees’ striking 4m polish oak circular bar, but we’ve also worked from the back of a Landrover. No idea is out of the question for an eye-catching focal point!

4. Service with a smile

It’s all fun and games having guests pouring their own drinks but who tops up the drinks station, who buys the ice on the morning of your wedding, who clears up the empty glasses and takes away the rubbish? Bar staff will ensure your guests are looked after, they will bring everything from measures to ice buckets, glasses to fruit garnishes.

5. Wastage

As a mobile bar, we are often asked to bring specific drinks for guests, more often than not we serve less than half, whether this be a special spirit, a specific beer or even a particular brand of soft drink. Imagine if you had purchased all your wedding drinks, keeping guests in mind, and you are then left with so many part bottles and boxes that can’t be returned or reused.

Now we’re not saying never do it yourselves, only highlighting the benefits of a mobile bar and how this will make the lead up to your day less stressful and take total care of you and your family and friends on the day.

If you are dead set on going for a DIY marquee bar, these are our top things to consider;

1. Glassware

Hire this in from a reputable company such as Plato who offer a dirty back service. No one wants to be washing glasses the next day. Order slightly more than you think you’ll need and have some recyclables for back up. Also think about bar wear down to ice buckets, scoops, measures, bottle openers, you can often hire these from the same place as your crockery and glassware. Finally think about chilling your drinks, hiring in a chiller trailer from a reputable company such as Chill Quick is always the best choice for marquee weddings.

2. Purchase drinks from a wholesalers or wine merchants who offer sale or return.

You will always have open bottles and boxes but you will want to be able to return the majority if it isn’t used. This doesn’t mean you should over buy though. Oh, and don’t forget non-alcoholic options and have a water station that is kept topped up.

3. Bar Staff

Even if you are providing your own drinks, you should consider bar staff to serve and clear drinks. No one wants to be responsible for topping up the station or clearing glassware. Your catering team may be able to support with this service!

So, pop the bubbly, pour a pint and toast to a wedding drink experience that enhances your day and excites your guests!

Cheers!
